Becky has been working in clay for over 14 years. In 2001, she graduated from Sheridan College School of Craft and Design specializing in Ceramics. Becky finds time for her studio practices, where she creates functional and non-functional ceramics.
Saggar firing is one of her signature processes that combines a little spontaneity, raw materials and an outdoor gas kiln. This method leaves unique one-of-a-kind markings that reflect Becky’s love for the outdoors and natural beauty. The other process is her total opposite love, by covering some of the surface of her vessels with slips as well as painted, transferred, and pre-made images and patterns. This develops bright colours, layers, depth and contrast. All of her forms are thrown on the wheel and altered.
