Jay and Gizmo Learn About Hoop Dancing
The second book in the Adventures of Jay and Gizmo Series follows Jay and Gizmo to a local event where they meet a Indigenous Hoop Dancer named River Christie-White.
Book Two has a special message in the back of the book that talks about River Christie-White's Autism Awareness Campaign called Hoops For Hope which advocates for Acceptance, Inclusion and Understanding for those who have Intellectual Disabilities.
About the Author and Illustrator
Kristi White is an author and member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames. Her focus is on Indigenous language and culture revitalization, and an awakening in boys literacy.
Illustrator Sheri Campbell has been drawing since childhood and continues to develop her artistic practice through the use of different mediums including pencils, paints, markers, and digital art.
