Susan Garrington
Susan Garrington, a self taught artist, based in London, Ontario, works in her sketchbook on location for the love of it and to gather information to be used in subsequent studio paintings. Her award winning paintings have been included in juried and curated exhibitions throughout Southwestern Ontario. She has been the recipient of Ontario Art Council’s Grants.
Susan has taught watercolour workshops locally and regionally as well as presenting watercolour demonstrations in various locations.
Susan, who describes her recent body of work as botanical fiction, says, ”My father worked outdoors and his observations and delight in the natural world taught me to seek magic in the ordinary and to pay close attention. My love of colour, shape and design was born in my mother’s garden.”
In a world that often overlooks the beauty of our surroundings, her vibrant and whimsical paintings serve to celebrate and embrace the wonders of nature.
