From Remote Stars: Buckminster Fuller, London, and Speculative Futures

Regular price $30.00
In the winter of 2022, Museum London unveiled an exhibition that addressed the cultural record of London, Ontario in the 1960s, engaging with it across more than five decades. A 1968 visit to the city by R. Buckminster Fuller - renowned systems theorist, author, designer, inventor, and futurist - serves as the project's catalyst for exploring views of society, culture and nature. Curated by Kirsty Robertson and Sarah E.K. Smith, this exhibition examined the world of the late 1960s, which in Canada witnessed Fuller's realization of the Biosphere in Montreal, and in London, the flowering of the Regionalist impulse. It also looked into the future of this area and well beyond, not only on a national scale, but even to the "remote stars".
